Through six weeks of the 2022 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers sit at 3-3 overall and are on a two-game losing streak. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the offense has struggled recently, including in Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets.
With that, the question that is being asked is if the team needs to add anything to the roster. Names like Odell Beckham Jr. and even Desean Jackson have been rumored with the likes of Green Bay but so far, no moves have been made. With Randall Cobb leaving Sunday’s game with an injury, the Packers may have to look for some help on offense.
And Rodgers will be a part of those conversations.
Aaron Rodgers speaks on possible additions
Following Sunday’s game in Green Bay, Rodgers was asked about the roster and offered up an answer that points to him being involved with conversations to improve the roster.
Here is what he said via Packer Report’s Zachary Jacobson:
Aaron Rodgers said he and Brian Gutekunst are always having conversations surrounding the state of the team and the potential acquisition of free agents, though, he feels “there’s enough on this team to be a successful team.”

Now, the quote does tell us a few things. It means that the Packers have had some discussions about the roster which is the norm for this time of year. But it also tells us that Rodgers is a key talking point in these discussions which is interesting. The point of there’s enough on this team to be successful is also key and should be pointed out.
We don’t know if Rogers is lobbying for more help but judging by today’s performance, that might be the case.
Green Bay needs more weapons moving forward as this receiver core has really struggled. The only question now is if that help will come sooner rather than later.
