Aaron Rodgers has once again become the center of rumors and debates among Packers and NFL fans and analysts. Will he retire? Will he return to Green Bay? Would it be better for the Packers if they traded him? Of course, in order for an answer to become clear, Rodgers himself needs to figure out what he wants to do in 2023. As he said on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, he is not mentally or emotionally prepared to make that decision. One of his former teammates, the co-host of The Pat McAfee Show AJ Hawk, believes that the Packers will do whatever it takes to have Rodgers back.
AJ Hawk Shares His Thoughts on Aaron Rodgers
A day after Rodgers appeared on the show, McAfee, Hawk, and the other panelists on the show discussed what may happen in Green Bay. Hawk, himself a former Packers player and teammate of Aaron Rodgers, has an insight that few others have. In his opinion, the Packers will do whatever they need to do in order to have him back next year.

McAfee and Hawk were discussing what they were most surprised about from their conversation with Aaron Rodgers. Both shared that they were kind of shocked that there is a notion that the Packers may not want Rodgers back. Instead, they would move forward with Jordan Love as the quarterback.
During their conversation, Hawk said that if Rodgers wants to play football, “Green Bay will do what they can do have him there.” To be clear, as Hawk said afterwards, that is simply his gut feeling, his opinion. He is not speaking as some kind of inside source.
That being said, Hawk has been right before when it comes to situations between Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Back in 2021, when Rodgers and the Packers’ private disagreement became public, many questioned whether or not Rodgers would return. AJ Hawk very publicly stated his belief that Rodgers would be back. And he was right.

I think if Packer fans were polled they would say it’s time. If there’s still teams out there that think he’d be the difference the Packers need to see what they can get in return. He’s not Matt Ryan yet, but he’s not the same player he was 2-3 years ago either and he’s far from his peak.
