Aaron Rodgers was the king of the NFC North for nearly two decades. In fact, he has a 59-24-1 career record against the North throughout his career.
Against the Minnesota Vikings he is 17-11-1. However, a report surrounding Vikings’ current star wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Aaron Rodgers is sweeping the internet.
News Surrounding Aaron Rodgers And Justin Jefferson Is Sweeping The Internet
According to Rivka Boord of JetX:
The New York Jets are all-in on the 2024 season. What would be a more all-in move than bringing in the NFL’s best receiver?
Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson is seeking a new deal. Justin Jefferson was absent from Minnesota Vikings facilities on Monday amid contract negotiations and the start of voluntary offseason organized activities, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
However, according to one report, Jefferson was seen elsewhere: in Florham Park, New Jersey, where the Jets’ practice facility is located.
If the Vikings and Jefferson fail to come to an agreement, could the Jets pull the trigger to reel him in?
While this may cause the hype among Jets fans to reach frenzied levels, the reality is that the chances the Jets acquire Jefferson are razor-thin. For one thing, Minnesota just drafted a rookie quarterback; it is unlikely that they would allow their elite receiving weapon to leave.
For another, the Jets have no cap space. They currently have $2.3 million in effective cap space, per Over the Cap. Jefferson will be seeking to top A.J. Brown’s $32 million average annual value for the highest receiver contract in the league. While the Jets could always restructure contracts, there’s little way to clear that amount of space.

Will The Vikings Extend Justin Jefferson?
On the Vikings’ fifth-year option, Jefferson is due $19.7 million in 2024, the last year of his rookie contract. During the previous four years of his contract, he earned $13.3 million.
In his four seasons as a football player, Jefferson has emerged as arguably the best receiver in the game. Since being selected by the Vikings with the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, he has substantially outperformed his rookie contract and is due a huge contract.
The Vikings know how important it is to keep a player like Jefferson around. They also may be in the right spot to do so without having to pay a massive quarterback contract any time soon. Still, any time you are on the hook to pay a wide receiver $35+ million a year, it is difficult to navigate.
Should Jefferson miss the remaining voluntary programs this month, his negotiations will focus on Minnesota’s mandatory minicamp June 4-6. Are the two sides going to reach a deal before minicamp? Without an extension, would he report this season?
This is an extremely interesting situation to watch.
