The Green Bay Packers kept their playoff hopes alive on Monday Night with their win against the Rams. With a final score of 24-12, the Packers moved to 6-8 on the season. That record is good enough to keep them right on the heels of the NFC playoff race. Rookie wide receiver Christian Watson played a vital role in that victory. However, that doesn’t mean it didn’t come without mistakes.
Aaron Rodgers Jokingly Rips Christian Watson During Post-Game Interview
During a 3rd and two Inside the Rams’ five-yard line, Aaron Rodgers motioned to Christian Watson… but he missed it. During the broadcast, it showed Aaron Rodgers rubbing his arm and looking at Christian Watson prior to the snap. Rodgers immediately snapped the ball and threw it to Watson. Only Watson didn’t turn around for the ball and it fell helplessly incomplete forcing fourth down (which the Packers ended up converting anyways). During the post-game interview Rodgers was asked about that specific play:
“If you wanna catch touchdowns, you run the right routes.”
That comment was followed by a harmless chuckle from Rodgers. Here is the full video:

Aaron Rodgers has been very vocal about how impressed he is with both rookie wide receivers (Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs). In fact, it was even annotated after the game that Rodgers has some pretty ridiculous stats this year when they are both on the field. According to ESPNStatsInfo Aaron Rodgers went 7-of-7 for 91 yards with both Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs on the field Monday. Rodgers is also 20-of-24 this season when both rookies are on the field at the same time. That is extremely impressive and provides a great outlook for the future. That doesn’t meant that rookies won’t make mistakes at times. It is nice to at least see Rodgers joking about it post-game. Look for Doubs and Watson to continue to be used heavily in this offense going forward.
