Aaron Rodgers had a rough night
Aaron Rodgers has taken the Green Bay Packers on his back since Week 12. The Packers seemed nearly out of the playoff hunt after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving weekend. They managed to win four in a row, setting them up with a guarantee to make the playoffs if they beat the Detroit Lions Sunday night.
The Packers fell short on SNF. Rodgers appeared crushed after the game. He didn’t have his best night. Rodgers finished the game with 205 yards passing, one touchdown, and a game-defining interception.
With speculation that it could be his last game at Lambeau Field, Rodgers made it clear he wanted to keep his jersey for safekeeping. During his press conference following the game, Rodgers answered several questions about his future with the Packers or elsewhere. One answer stood out about Rodgers’ intentions to play football next season.
According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, Rodgers was asked by reporters if he felt like he could still play at an elite level. Rodgers certainly thinks he can:
“The answer’s yes,” Rodgers said.

“The answer’s yes.”
Rodgers’ answer appears to indicate he plans on playing football again. We’ll have to see whether that’s with the Packers. The Packers will have many roster decisions to make in the next few months. Aaron Rodgers said he wouldn’t hold the franchise hostage while he makes his decision for next season. But he seems very interested in playing next season. That’s a good sign for football fans who enjoy watching Rodgers play.
