Aaron Rodgers went on “The Pat McAfee Show” and his much-anticipated appearance came with some big news. Many people assumed that Rodgers would announce his decision to the world, but he announced that this is not “decision day,” but rather that he is past making his decision. The decision has been made.
What Did Rodgers Say
One of the first things Rodgers said was that when the offseason began the Packers said they were open to having him back if he wanted to return. This was before Rodgers went into his darkness retreat. However, after he came out of his darkness retreat he felt that something had shifted.
”When I got out of Darkness…something changed. There was a shift, I heard that they were shopping me. When I went into the darkness, I was 90% retired, 10% playing.”

Rodgers said that he felt like the Packers were shopping him. He said that going into his darkness retreat he was leaning %90 towards retirement. After coming out and seeing that things had shifted he entertained the idea of playing.
Long story short, he said that after his meeting with the Jets, he decided that he wanted to play, but was not sure yet. However, the decision came that he wanted to play and that he intends to play for the New York Jets.
“We had a nice visit and conversation. I told them I wasn’t ready to make a decision, I wanted to get back into working out first to see if the drive and the passion was still there. The decision was made in my mind on that Tuesday, that I wanted to play. Then it was ‘how is my body’ and I made up my mind that I’d like to play and I’d like to play for the New York Jets.”
What Is Holding Up an Aaron Rodgers Trade
Rodgers very clearly stated that he has made it known to the Packers that he wants to play for the Jets. He said he has made that known since Friday. Right now he is waiting for the Green Bay Packers to finalize compensation with the New York Jets. Nobody knows what the trade compensation will be, but what’s clear is Aaron Rodgers wants to be a Jet.
