Aaron Rodgers has yet to be traded by the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets. For weeks, fans and media wondered what the hold up was. Many even blamed Brian Gutekunst for, well, they have not forgiven him for drafting Jordan Love. Others blamed the Jets who have gone out of their way to reaffirm their commitment to acquiring Rodgers any time they are asked about it publicly.
As it turns out, the person to blame may be none other than Rodgers himself. According to reports, Rodgers’ comments on The Pat McAfee Show about being 90% retired scared Jets’ owner Woody Johnson into backing out of an agreement with Green Bay. Colin Cowherd put Rodgers on blast regarding these reports on a recent show.
Colin Cowherd Has Strong Words for Aaron Rodgers Regarding Priorities
Colin Cowherd is, more often than not, one of Rodgers’ strongest critics. He, once again, took the opportunity his platform allows him to voice his strong opinion of the future Hall of Fame quarterback:
“Aaron Rodgers at this point in his career is committed to having leverage and power and winning the chess match more than he is winning playoff games. How do I know? Because he’s smart and he’s talented and he’s made decisions which hinder one and help the other.
“Let’s be honest. In Green Bay he wasn’t winning playoff games at the end, but he had power. It got him a huge contract and then eventually got him out of town. But you will get in your life what matters to you, and Aaron has made multiple choices that the money and the leverage and the final say is the most important thing.
“Aaron’s too smart to think ‘yeah I can not show up in the off-season and that’s really going to help rookie receivers.’ He knew it was going to hurt the rookie receivers, but he wanted the power and leverage to not allow the Packers to control his offseason.
“Aaron’s smart enough to know if you take the most money it’s going to limit your roster. He’s a smart cat. He went to Cal. We know he’s bright. So you get what you want. Aaron now is more concerned with winning the chess match, having leverage control and power…and that’s fine.
“But Aaron knows he could solve this tomorrow with a press release. I’m in two years minimum hopefully three. Deals done. That’s what the Jets are waiting for…Then they can get on their way and get him in camp, know exactly what to draft but that’s not the most important thing to Aaron right now. Winning the chess match, having control and power is. A lot of people are that way. I would prefer my quarterbacks aren’t.”
It is quite the claim to say that Rodgers chose not to show up to the Packers’ voluntary activities in the offseason to ensure the rookie wide receivers struggled more than they could have. Notably, the Jets and Packers have started their 2023 offseason activities. Jordan Love is in Green Bay and Rodgers is, well, doing whatever it is that he does in the offseason. That being said, Allen Lazard posted pictures of himself and Rodgers working out together in California.
Maybe a change of scenery is what Rodgers wanted all along. Perhaps the Packers would have been better off trading him last offseason when the Denver Broncos came calling.
Hopefully this drama ends soon and we can all focus on cheering for Love instead of wondering about Rodgers.

Hell YES they would have been better off trading Rodgers.
All us Fans were ready to move on, tired of Rogers California drama, He just is trying to be a movie star, and Football shouldn’t have anything to do with that. NOT GOOD, WE wanted LOVE, HE IS THE ONE THAT SEEMS TO BE TAKING HIS FOOTBALL SERIOUS, WE DON’T WANT A DRAMA QUEEN 👑👑.
if woody bends over for GB especially the gm no less he will again screw the jets.
relax stay strong gb cannot afford 60 million to sit aaron, gb will bend over on draft day or later.
there are no other suitors better than jets
a second round this year and 1 3 round next year that can be upgraded to 2 nd round oif aaron plays.

A.R. is the true blue classic definition of a psycho narcissist. He camouflages his true intentions with these dramatic, “Oh look at me!” head games for the soul purpose of punishing GB Team and all the GB Pack fans because we showed him the door. This is like a messy divorce plain and simple. I sure hope you Jets and or Titans know what you’re getting yourself into. Just so you know, Wis even made a beer for Mr. Narcissist called: Cry Baby 12. What does that tell ya?
