Aaron Rodgers and Nathaniel Hackett were extremely successful together. During Hackett’s three years in Green Bay the Packers won 39 regular season games. 13-3, 13-3, and 13-4 (2019-2021) were the records the Packers posted while Hackett was the offensive coordinator. Fittingly, Nathaniel Hackett was a prime head coaching candidate after the 2021 season. Unfortunately, after a 4-11 start, Hackett was fired from his head coaching position in Denver. Aaron Rodgers was asked about the firing on The Pat McAfee show, this is what he had to say.
Aaron Rodgers Speaks Out About Nathaniel Hackett
“Obviously, it wasn’t a great fit in Denver for a number of reasons that I don’t think I need to bring up, but the record is what it was and the new owner decided to make a change, which is his prerogative,” Rodgers told The Pat McAfee Show. “Hack is still gonna get paid, and he’s still got an incredible wife and a great family and a lot of things to be proud of. And he’s got a great friend in me still.”

Per Tom Silverstein, during today’s press conference, Matt LaFleur was asked if he would consider bringing Hackett back to Green Bay this year.
LaFleur called the Nathaniel Hackett firing “an ugly part of the business.” Said he’s always here for him if he needs him. “I just feel for him.” Did not answer whether he might consider bringing him in for the rest of the season. Said he has not talked to Hackett yet.
In January, Denver hired Hackett, 42, as their 18th head coach. This came subsequently after serving three seasons as the Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator under Matt LaFleur. At the time, George Paton (Broncos GM) called Hackett a “dynamic leader and coach whose intelligence, innovation, and charisma impressed us from the very start of the process.” The Nathaniel Hackett firing comes after a 4-11 start for the Broncos and a 51-14 loss Sunday to the Rams.
