Aaron Rodgers has yet to make a decision on what he will do for the 2023 NFL season. If he does decide to return to the gridiron, many believe that the Green Bay Packers will trade him and hand over the reins to Jordan Love. For weeks, there have been rumors and speculation regarding what team Rodgers will play for next season. At one time, the Las Vegas Raiders were considered the odds-on favorites to land the four-time MVP. However, recent reports now state that the Raiders have no interest in Rodgers. That being said, one team has emerged as the obvious favorite to land Rodgers.
The New York Jets Have Emerged As the Favorite to Land Aaron Rodgers

According to the reputable Bill Huber, the New York Jets have emerged as the clear favorite to land Rodgers if a trade does occur:
“The future of Rodgers is one of the big stories of this year’s Scouting Combine. Will Rodgers decide to play in 2023? If he does, will he return to the Green Bay Packers for a 19th season or will he be traded?
“If the drama ends in a trade, there’s only one logical suitor: the Jets.”
Huber argues that the Jets have an excellent roster made up of several great young players. The only position, he argues, that they are in desperate need of an upgrade is quarterback.
Of course, the Jets themselves agree with this sentiment. They have been known to be interested in trading for Rodgers for weeks now. Additionally, they have also met with four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr, who is a free agent.
Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr?

The downside of acquiring Rodgers is that it will cost any team that trades for him draft picks. Additionally, there is no guarantee that Rodgers will play beyond the 2023 season. The upside, of course, is that even though 2022 was a “down year” for the future Hall of Famer, he is still a better quarterback than Carr.
Carr, on the other hand, is likely seeking a multi-year contract. In other words, he would be a longer-term solution than Rodgers (if one considers Carr a solution, that is). Additionally, as a free agent, he would not cost any team that signs him any draft picks. He will also be a lot cheaper per year than Rodgers.
The answer to the question Rodgers or Carr is simple: how serious is the team about winning now? If the team wants to make a playoff run to a possible Super Bowl, the answer is clearly Rodgers. If not, then it’s Carr.
