Recently, the city of El Paso honored one of Green Bay’s offensive stars for his off-field work. Aaron Jones is well-known for being one of the best running backs in the league. However, he has also shown that he is an incredible human being. In his sophomore season in the NFL, he gained recognition for wheeling an elderly woman through the Appleton airport. In 2021, the Packers selected Jones as the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award. It is clear that Jones values helping the less fortunate in his community.
Helping Out His Hometown
In 2020, Aaron Jones and his brother Alvin started the A&A All the Way Foundation. According to the Foundation’s website, the organization “is dedicated to making an impact in the lives of our nation’s youth,” and looks to “inspire, educate and promote unity and diversity across multiple communities.” In the past few years, the brothers have set up multiple giveaways and charity events. Most recently, the A&A Foundation hosted a charity softball game in their hometown of El Paso, Texas. Multiple current and former athletes from the MLB, NBA, and NFL participated along with Aaron and Alvin. Those with Packers connections included Dexter Williams, Jamaal Williams, and Kylin Hill.
Other Charity Work
In addition to the softball game, the brothers also recently held their annual Jones Brothers Football Camp at their former high school in El Paso. After returning to Green Bay, Aaron Jones hosted a similar youth camp a few days ago. The brothers and their organization run numerous charity efforts throughout the year, in both Green Bay and El Paso.
Receiving a Key to the City
Considering how much Aaron Jones has given back to his community, it’s no wonder that the city of El Paso wanted to honor him. On July 9, he was presented with a key to the city. Afterwards, his family posted a photo of the award on Instagram.
Over the years, Packers fans have witnessed just how amazing Jones is as a human being. It is fantastic to see him be honored for his ceaseless work in the community.
How to Support Jones’ Charity Work
If you are looking to support a great cause, then the Jones brothers’ A&A All The Way Foundation is an excellent choice. Among other causes, the Foundation works to provide for the basic needs of children in Green Bay and El Paso. In the past, Alvin and Aaron have assisted in providing turkeys to needy families during the month of November. Over the 2020/2021 seasons, Aaron Jones’ Yards for Shoes campaign provided over a hundred pairs of shoes for Green Bay schoolchildren. Through their “Freedom Is” program, the Foundation provides funds to military families across the country.
You can donate to the “Freedom Is” program on the Foundation’s webpage. If you want to donate to the Foundation in general, you can do that as well. You can also follow the Foundation on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. You can find more info about the Foundation and its work on their website.
