Now may be a low point for Aaron Jones based on average draft position. Jones has a current average draft position of 2.02 or 14th overall, according to Fantasy Football Calculator. In almost every draft format, Aaron Jones value has dropped to preseason lows, now may be the time to acquire Jones.
Aaron Jones finished third last year among running backs in fantasy points per game. Of the top ten running backs in that statistic, only three running backs had over one point per opportunity. The three running backs include; Austin Ekeler, Christian McCaffrey, and Aaron Jones. Basically saying that every time Jones gets an opportunity, he is getting you at least one point.
Out of those same top 10 running backs, only two scored more fantasy points per game than was expected per game: Derrick Henry and Aaron Jones. Jones was one of two running backs that outscored their projected points on a per-game basis.
Jones finished the 2019 season as either the second or third running back in all scoring formats but was drafted as the 16th running back. Going into the 2020 NFL season, Jones is the 14th running back being drafted. Jones outscored no less than 186 running backs in 2019.
I dare you to ignore Aaron Jones; he simply outperforms all expectations.
