A Look At Wisconsin’s Draw In The Big Ten Tournament

The regular season is over in the Big Ten and across college basketball. Conference tournaments will begin for the major programs this week. On the other hand, mid-major conference tournaments are in progress or just finishing up. The Wisconsin Badgers are the 12 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. They will open the tournament Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 in Chicago. Here is the Badgers’ path and what they potentially have should they keep winning.

Wednesday, Big Ten Tournament Round 1: Ohio State

We know the Badgers will open their Big Ten Tournament Wednesday against Ohio State. The Badgers took the first and only meeting in Columbus 65-60 on Feb. 2. We also know it’s a game the Badgers have to win if they want to make the NCAA Tournament and hear their name called on Selection Sunday.

Thursday, Big Ten Tournament Round 2: Iowa

If Wisconsin is able to get past Ohio State in round one of the Big Ten Tournament, they would play the fifth-seed Iowa Thursday afternoon after the Michigan/Rutgers game. Just to show how crazy of a Big Ten season this was, the 12-seed Badgers swept this Iowa team. They won at Iowa in overtime in December and then in Madison by 12 a few weeks ago. This won’t be an easy task either, as beating a team three times in a season is difficult. If the Badgers get Iowa, you better believe they want revenge.

Friday, Big Ten Tournament Round 3: Michigan State

If the Badgers could pull off the 5/12 upset, they would get the four-seed Michigan State Friday afternoon. This would follow the Purdue and Rutgers/Michigan winner. The Badgers lost to the Spartans in Madison 69-65 in early January. However, Tyler Wahl did not play in that game.

A win in this quarterfinal would likely result in a date with Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament Semi-Finals on Saturday.
