Sunday’s Packers vs. Bucs game is looking to be rough for fans of passing. The Bucs are dealing with injuries to Chris Godwin and Julio Jones while Mike Evans is suspended. The Packers have their own set of injuries to deal with. 4 Packers wide receivers are not practicing on Thursday.
Which Packers Wide Receivers Are Not Practicing?
Four of the Packers top receivers are not practicing: Allen Lazard (ankle), Christian Watson (hamstring), Sammy Watkins (hamstring) and Randall Cobb (illness) all DNP. All but Cobb practiced yesterday.
David Bakhtiari is back practicing today after yesterday’s DNP.

The 4 Packers wide receivers out are Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson and Randall Cobb. Lazard has been dealing with an ankle injury since week 1. He was back for week 2 and all indications are that he has not suffered any setbacks. This may be precautionary. Watkins and Watson are both dealing with hamstring injuries. This is very concerning as both are speed guys and hamstring injuries can often linger. Randall Cobb missed yesterday’s practice as well with an illness. It is unclear what the illness is but it is something to watch. The big concern is that all but Cobb practiced yesterday. This again could be simply precautionary to make sure they are healthy for Sunday’s game.
What Are The Packers Options At Wide Receiver?
As of right now, Romeo Doubs, Amari Rodgers, Samori Toure, Juwann Winfree, and Travis Fulgham are the only healthy wide receivers practicing today. Winfree and Fulgham are on the practice squad and would need to be elevated in order to play Sunday. This late in the week I would highly doubt that the Packers would try to sign a last minute free agent. This would be a concerning group to go into Sunday with. Doubs has had some nice moments but is still young. Amari Rodgers has clearly fallen out of favor. Winfree has had chances to step up and not taken them. Toure had a great preseason but has yet to see a snap and Flugham is a huge wild card. Hopefully we get more clarity on Friday on the status of the 4 Packers wide receivers not practicing today.
Will any wide receivers play in this game? For the Packers I expect a lot of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. The issue with that is the Bucs boast a strong defensive line. This has the makings of a low scoring slugfest. Hopefully at least some of the 4 Packers receivers not practicing will be able to go on Sunday.
