Stellar 3-Star Recruit Visiting Wisconsin This Weekend

The Wisconsin Badgers have had some tough news on the recruiting front. After a couple of decommits this past week, there is a glimmer of hope in the world of recruiting. 3-star safety Khalil Ali was a past target for Wisconsin but he ended up committing to Boston College. However, he recently stepped away from his original commitment and is back on the market. Wisconsin jumped on the opportunity and the 3-star recruit will be visiting Wisconsin Saturday for the game against Minnesota.

Ali was worried that his spurning of the Badgers meant they would be reluctant to engage with him again. This was not the case. The Badgers were one of the first to call Ali after he decommitted from Boston College. They quickly ramped up the recruiting efforts and scheduled a visit. Cornerbacks coach Hank Poteat has extensive connections in Ali’s home state which helped Wisconsin get their foot in the door. With the coaching uncertainty looking to be resolved in the near future, Wisconsin should become a more desirable target for many recruits. This is Ali’s first visit to a program since decommitting from Boston College.

    Ali’s Profile

Ali is a 6′ 1″ 190-pound prospect out of New Jersey. He is a superb athlete as he also plays basketball and runs track. Ali also plays wide receiver on his high school team and caught eight touchdowns last season. He would be a great athlete on the back end of the Badger’s defense and would be a key piece in the 2023 recruiting class. It is a little bit of a longshot that he commits to Wisconsin but the fact he is prioritizing the Wisconsin visit first is a good sign.

Jim Leonhard has done good things so far for the program. Hopefully, he can lock down some recruits in this cycle. If the Badgers can flip Ali to Wisconsin, it would help bolster their 2023 recruiting class and help them reload for next season.
