The #20 Wisconsin Badgers are in must-win territory on Tuesday night at home against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Wisconsin has lost its last four games and tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT. The Badgers return home after struggling on the road against bottom feeders in the conference.
The Badgers have a 16-8 overall record so far this season and they have an 8-5 BIG10 Conference Record. Wisconsin is currently tied for third place in the conference with the Northwestern Wildcats. The Wisconsin Badgers lost their last game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday on the road by a final score of 78-56.
Only two players scored in double figures in that game for Wisconsin. Connor Essegian scored 15 points in that game for Wisconsin and AJ Storr also added 14 points for the Badgers. Max Klesmit will have to be better for this basketball team if they want to end this skid.
Head coach Greg Gard is currently feeling the heat from this fanbase. Another loss on Tuesday night to a lower-tier team in the conference will make the complaints grow louder.
Ohio State Buckeyes Players To Watch For Against the Wisconsin Badgers
Ohio State last played on Saturday against the Maryland Terrapins at home and they won that game in double overtime by a final score of 79-75. The Buckeyes improved to 14-10 overall on the season and they are now 4-9 in BIG10 Conference play.
Chris Holtmann’s squad had two players score in double figures on Saturday against Maryland. Bruce Thornton led the way for the Ohio State Buckeyes with 24 points, seven rebounds, and recorded four assists. Roddy Gayle Jr. also added 17 points for Ohio State.
The Wisconsin Badgers have dropped in the rankings lately. Wisconsin needs to win this game against Ohio State in order to avoid dropping out of the Top 25 entirely. The Badgers just need to win this game in any fashion over the Buckeyes to get back on track.
