The #20 Wisconsin Badgers needed to end its four-game skid at home on Tuesday night against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Wisconsin got out to a big lead early against Ohio State and they never looked back as the Badgers took down the Buckeyes by a final score of 62-54.
One of the biggest emphases for the Badgers was crashing the glass. Steven Crowl recorded a double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists. AJ Storr scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Tyler Wahl was the other double-digit scorer in this basketball game for Wisconsin with 10 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
That was one of the biggest struggles in the last four games for the Wisconsin Badgers was crashing the glass. Wisconsin played with more energy in this game and it showed. Head coach Greg Gard doesn’t have to hear complaints from the fanbase after this victory against the Buckeyes.
With the win, the Badgers improved to 17-8 overall on the season and 9-5 in BIG10 Conference play. They are back in third place in the conference and they are just a half-game back of the#14 Illinois Fighting Illini for the second spot in the conference.
Ohio State Buckeyes Have Three Players Score in Double Figures Against the Wisconsin Badgers
With the loss against Wisconsin, Ohio State drops to 14-11 on the season and they also drop to 4-10 in BIG10 Conference play. The Buckeyes had three different players score in double figures for Chris Holtmann’s squad. Bruce Thornton led the way for Ohio State with 18 points, four rebounds, and five assists.
Roddy Gayle Jr. and Evan Mahaffey each scored 10 points in this basketball game for the Buckeyes. This was huge for Wisconsin to beat a bottom-feeder in the conference because they couldn’t afford to lose another game to a bad college basketball team.
The Badgers getting back into the win column feels good, but they still have a lot of work to do. They must keep the energy up on the defensive end of the floor, especially on the glass if they want to stay in the win column also.
