A day after a few Brewers prospects mashed seven RBI’s in a win against the Royals, two new members of the Brew Crew had big moments during a 6-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs. In the Cactus League game, newcomers Brian Anderson and Abraham Toro both went deep and accounted for four RBI’s.
Brian Anderson and Abraham Toro recorded four total RBI’s as the Brewers beat the Cubs 6-3.

Brian Anderson signed a one year, $3.5MM contract with the Brewers in January. He could make an extra $2.0MM in incentives. Before being non-tendered by the Marlins, he was projected to make $5.2MM in arbitration. He has battled multiple injuries over the past two seasons, but if healthy he could provide a boost to the Brewers offense.
Abraham Toro was acquired at the same time as Jesse Winker. Toro is a switch hitting infielder who is versatile defensively. He will be playing for Team Canada in the 2023 WBC, so it was nice to see him make the most out of his one at bat in today’s game.
Which other Brewers also had good days at the ball park?
Other key highlights from the game included a Rowdy Tellez home run. He went yard during the teams first game on Saturday and now has two home runs this spring. Other Brewers with extra base hits included Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick. Today was Yelich’s spring training debut.
On the mound, Robert Stock pitched two scoreless innings. Overall, he has now pitched three scoreless frames. Alex Claudio, Elvis Peguero, Tyson Miller, and Justin Yeager also all had scoreless innings. Tobias Myers was the only Brewers to allow a crooked number as he gave up a two run home run to Nelson Velazquez.
The Brewers are now 3-2 in Cactus League play. Tomorrow’s game will be against the Angels in which Devin Williams is expected to start the game.
