The #15 Wisconsin Badgers will look to stay undefeated in BIG10 Conference play at home on Saturday afternoon when they take on the unranked Northwestern Wildcats. Tip-off for this contest will be at 11 a.m. CT.
Wisconsin is currently unbeaten in conference play at 4-0 and they have a 12-3 overall record. Northwestern also has a 12-3 record overall, but they are 3-1 in conference play. The Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Illinois Fighting Illini also have a 3-1 record in conference play and it is a three-way tie for second place at the moment.
This can very well be a game that the Badgers move up in the Top 25 rankings or Northwestern gets voted into the Top 25 rankings. Every conference game is a big game and that seems to be an understatement.
This past Wednesday, Wisconsin had three players score in double figures. Max Klesmit scored 18 points, A.J. Storr scored 17 points, and Tyler Wahl scored 11 points. They will all need to play well again in order to get another home conference win for Greg Gard’s squad and they have shown signs this season that they are a very good college basketball team.
Players to Watch For on the Northwestern Wildcats Against the Wisconsin Badgers
Chris Collins is the head coach for Northwestern and their last game was this past Wednesday on the road against the Penn State Nittany Lions by a final score of 76-72. The Wildcats will look to win another BIG10 Conference game on the road.
They had three players score in double figures against Penn State. Brooks Barnhizer led the way for the Northwestern Wildcats with 23 points, four rebounds, and one assist. Boo Buie scored 17 points and Ty Berry also added 16 points.
This is a college basketball game that can go either way. It’s another game that Wisconsin can’t be asleep at the wheel. With it being an early game, it is possible they forget to set the alarm clock. However, if the Badgers want to prove they want to take it to another level, they have to find a way to stay undefeated against the Wildcats.
