1 Perfect Trade To Send Packers’ Aaron Rodgers To Colts

Aaron Rodgers has completely stolen the spotlight with the Super Bowl right around the corner. While the big game is still being talked about at length, the rumors surrounding Rodgers’ future with the Green Bay Packers are the hottest topic in the news cycle. Plenty of teams have been mentioned as potential trade destinations, but no one truly knows whether or not Rodgers will actually end up leaving the Packers.

No decision has been made by Rodgers about retiring, playing, or wanting out. The Packers have not spoken out about the direction they would like to head either.

The rumors have been running rampant that the Packers are ready to move on from Rodgers. It has been said that Green Bay would prefer to turn the keys of the franchise over to Jordan Love.

Should the Packers and Rodgers decide that parting ways is the best option, some teams have already been rumored to be planning a trade offer. Among those teams are the New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, and Tennessee Titans. A lesser talked about trade destination is the Indianapolis Colts.

With that being said, the next few weeks are going to be insane as the offseason gets underway.

How Could The Colts Make A Trade To Acquire Aaron Rodgers?

Indianapolis is not even close to being one of the hottest trade destinations being talked about. However, they have the best asset to move in order to get Rodgers and have a need for a quarterback.

Over the last couple of years, the Colts have struggled to find a franchise quarterback after Andrew Luck abruptly retired. They have gone with aging quarterbacks in Philip Rivers and Matt Ryan and also brought in Carson Wentz for a year that went horribly. Rodgers is an older quarterback, but he’s a completely different kind of move than those they have made in the past.

The opportunity to acquire an all-time great who is still playing at a high level doesn’t come around very often. If the Colts feel that they have a window to win a Super Bowl, acquiring Aaron Rodgers makes perfect sense.

Let’s take a look at one perfect trade that would land Rodgers with the Colts this offseason.

Packers Receive: No. 4 Pick, WR Alec Pierce

    Colts Receive: Aaron Rodgers

For the Packers, they would be getting the No. 4 pick with a chance to add an elite young piece to a roster that is already loaded with young talent. They could either beef up the offensive line for Love or bring in another weapon for him offensively. Green Bay could also continue adding and stacking talent on the defensive side of the football.

On the other side of the trade, the Colts would have a hard time parting with Alec Pierce. The rookie wide receiver showed some great flashes in his first NFL season, but they would likely prefer to part with Pierce than Michael Pittman Jr. Giving up the No. 4 pick is difficult as well, but not having to add any more draft capital in this trade for a superstar quarterback would have to be intriguing.

Granted, this is only a hypothetical trade. No one truly knows what the Packers’ asking price would be for Rodgers in any kind of trade.

Despite it being hypothetical, the deal would make sense for both parties involved. Both the Packers and Colts would have a chance to turn this into a big win-win trade.

Expect to continue hearing a ton of Aaron Rodgers rumors as the offseason gets underway. The Packers and Rodgers have some decisions to make and hopefully they will be made soon.
