The 2023 NFL offseason has already gotten crazy for the Green Bay Packers. Rumors have been flying around about Aaron Rodgers and the likelihood that he will be traded this offseason. Right now, it appears that the New York Jets are running away as the favorites to end up landing the superstar quarterback.
Brian Gutekunst and company have to make a tough decision this offseason. Do they bring Rodgers back for one more run or turn over the keys of the franchise to young quarterback Jordan Love? It seems that Love could be getting the nod, much like Rodgers did back in the day when Brett Favre was traded.
According to a new report from NFL reporter Cam Marino, the Jets are currently preparing a big offer to send to the Packers for Rodgers.
Source: The NY Jets are gearing up to send a lucrative offer to Green Bay for QB Aaron Rodgers. This includes a first round pick and more. GB is not yet firm on any decision regarding Rodgers’ future with the team but this has been heating up for the NYJ over the last 72-hours.
With all of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at one trade the Packers should target making with the Jets that would send Rodgers to New York.
The Best Trade The Packers Should Target For Aaron Rodgers
Obviously, everything will start with the Jets’ first-round pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. That pick will be the No. 13 overall pick in the first round. Green Bay would then hold the No. 13 and No. 15 picks.
Next up, the Packers will be looking for future draft capital as well. A 2024 second-round pick would be a nice throw-in for the offer.
Finally, there is a good chance that Green Bay will want some players back in the deal as well. There are a couple of different targets the Packers should show major interest in.

Ideally, they would be able to get wide receiver Elijah Moore to add another young target for Love. Moore is coming off of a season where he requested a trade, but was denied a move. He caught 37 passes for 446 yards and a touchdown, and a change of scenery could be exactly what he needs to get back on track.
Should the Packers choose to target a different player, they could pursue wide receiver Corey Davis. It has been reported that Davis was on the Packers’ trade radar ahead of the deadline this year. Bringing in a veteran wideout like Davis could be a good option as well to help Love.
If the Packers actually do trade Aaron Rodgers, everything they do should be to build around Love. They need to do everything in their power to give him the best weapons to work with. Being able to acquire the No. 13 pick, a 2024 second-round pick, and either Moore or Davis would be a nice step towards re-tooling the roster.
Expect to continue hearing crazy rumors coming out of Green Bay. Until a decision is made on Rodgers, there will be mass chaos surrounding the Packers.
